Rena Detrixhe will be a Visiting Artist on the OSU campus Wednesday and Thursday, April 18 & 19 to provide a lecture on her time-based ephemeral artwork and to execute an outdoor red-dirt installation at The Botanic Garden at OSU (or indoors at the Stillwater Center for the Arts Gallery in case of inclement weather).
Rena will present a free public lecture on her artwork Wednesday, April 18, 5:00 - 6:00 pm in Room 170, School of Architecture Auditorium.
Beginning on the morning of Wednesday, April 18 Rena will begin developing a red dirt “rug” composed of sifted and compressed local soil and impressions derived from the soles of shoes. The installation process will take place over the course of two days (April 18 & 19) and you are invited to witness the evolution of the artwork on-site.
Rena has just completed an installation at the Philbrook Museum of Art that will be on display until June 30. Here is a link for information about the Philbrook project: https://philbrook.org/exhibitions/rena-detrixhe-red-dirt-rug/.
